Sarah Steben

Sarah Steben is a Montreal based dancer and instructor who began her career at the age of 15 years old. Her passion for dance developed throughout her time dancing at Studio A. During her time here she became a member of the two-time world Hip Hop champion crew Extreme which allowed her the opportunity to travel to various cities such as Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, New York City, Toronto, Quebec City and Bremen Germany, to showcase and compete.

Following her experience with Extreme, Sarah became a part of the all female crew Aftermath, directed by Erik Saradpon (Formality, MSA). Her training with this group of amazing dancers inspired her and gave her the drive to pursue dance professionally. This was a pivotal moment in her career as she also became passionate about teaching and choreography.

Since then, Sarah has had the opportunity to work choreographically with local artists such as Jaden Chase, RedRoche, Kaila Picard and Chris James. She has made several TV appearances on networks such as CTV, Global Television, Musique Plus and TVA. In 2010 and 2011 Sarah was selected as a finalist (Toronto week) on the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance Canada. She has also had the opportunity to dance at Escapade music festival in Ottawa for some of the biggest international DJ’s including Fedde le Grand, Kaskade and the Martinez Brothers. Now signed with KIK Agency in Montreal, Sarah has worked with large local production companies like Moment Factory.

Her most recent accomplishment has been her experience as a cast member in the Monsters of Hip Hop show in 2013 and returning as an alumni in 2014. Sarah worked alongside some of the industry’s most sought after choreographers and teachers such as Napoleon and Tabitha, Tony Testa, Kevin Maher, Luther Brown, Nick Demoura and Laura Edwards. In addition, Sarah became a part of the Motivating Excellence Alumni in 2015 lead by Rhapsody James, one of the dance industries top choreographers and artists. She has also a part of Rhapsody's dance company RED (Rhapsody en Danse) alongside many other talented artists. Sarah hopes to continue to train, teach and perform around the world but mostly continue to inspire those around her through her artistry.
